Andrea Jan 29, 2017 10:59PM CST

Hi I noticed my white Sam Villa combs turning green from disinfecting.

Is there any way to clean my combs without this happening, please?

thanks

Hello Andrea and thank you for your message.

Any light colored comb will absorb the coloring added to a disinfectant if they are soaked for a period of time.

We advocate the Sam Villa Ivory combs not be soaked overnight, it is not necessary.

You can visit your state’s sanitizing procedures at this site:
https://www.barbicide.com/education-training-barbicide/state-board-sites/

We will be happy to replace a comb or 2 for you.
Please send an email to our Customer Advocacy Team – info@samvilla.com

I have the ivory cutting combs and the tail combs. I have had no issues with them becoming discolored in Barbicide at all! Could the mixture be a bit on the strong side to cause discoloration? I'm just curious.
Thanks!

I'm not sure what other state Cosmetology Board recommendations are; in Kansas it is a 10 minute soak in Barbicide only. Could the mixture be a bit on the strong side to cause discoloration? I'm just curious.
Thanks!

Hello April,

Thanks for your time to reach out to us.

If you are only soaking for 10 mins, Barbicide should not discolor your Ivory combs.

Are you using your Ivory combs with hair color as any light colored comb will absorb hair color.
We do not recommend using any light colored comb with hair color.

Thanks again for your time and support, Andrea.

Best regards,
